Nick Mason is a Nashville-based audio engineer, designer, educator, and consultant with over a decade of experience in audio production, live sound, and the pageantry arts. His work spans professional audio, marching arts design, broadcast production, education, and system consulting, with a focus on creating practical, high-quality audio solutions for performers, educators, and organizations.
Nick’s performance background includes six seasons of marching band, six seasons in WGI, and two seasons in DCI. He performed with Chattanooga Independent Percussion Ensemble from 2014–2016 and Music City Mystique from 2017–2019, earning a WGI PIW gold medal in 2017 and bronze medal in 2019. He also performed with The Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps during the 2018 and 2019 seasons. While attending Middle Tennessee State University, Nick marched with the MTSU Band of Blue Drumline from 2017–2018 and served as percussion section leader in 2018.
Outside of the marching arts, Nick has performed professionally since 2017, including appearances with Brett Eldredge at the 2017 CMT Awards, corporate and convention events for Dollar General, the Nashville Tomato Fest, and the Nashville Pride Parade. His recording and project credits include work for the EA Sports College Football 2026 and 2027 video game soundtrack and special projects for Zayde Wolf.
Since graduating, Nick has engineered, designed, and contributed to a wide range of live, virtual, and post-production projects. His credits include The Cavaliers’ 2020 and 2023 PASIC Clinics, Virtual Arts productions, the California Orchestra Directors Association Virtual Performance series, California All-State ensembles, and numerous independent audio and post-production projects. He has provided live sound, broadcast audio, sound design, and pageantry audio services for clients including Timber Creek High School, Ravenwood High School, Audio Theater, Music City Drum Corps, FloMarching, and The Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps. In 2023, he served as Lead Audio Engineer for The Cavaliers during their Fred Sanford High Percussion Award–winning season.
Nick served on staff with Ravenwood High School from 2019–2026, contributing to the program’s continued growth and competitive success. During his tenure, Ravenwood earned multiple SCGC championships, was named a 2023 WGI PSO Finalist, and won the 2026 WGI PIA World Championship.
Nick holds a Bachelor of Science in Audio Production and Music Industry from Middle Tennessee State University. He is the owner of Mason Audio Solutions, Audio Department Manager at Synced Up Audio, Audio Coordinator for Music City Drum Corps, a Snare Technician at Music City Mystique, and a proud Innovative Percussion educational artist.
